How to choose the right Zap Box model

For Business / Commercial Use

Many businesses use 3-phase appliances.  You can check this by looking at the plug sockets because 3-phase appliances have 4 pins (instead of the usual 2 or 3).  If you use 3-phase appliances then you should order our 3-Phase / Commercial Zap Box.  This has a capacity of 200amps of inductive load which is sufficient for nearly all small-to-medium sized businesses.  If your needs are greater than this, please contact us for a consultation and customized solution.

Do The Zap Box work on analog / digital meters?

Yes, The Zap Box does work on both analog and digital meters.

Please don't confuse our powersavers with illegal 'meter-hacks' that try to fool your meter.

The Zap Box  genuinely reduces your power consumption and therefore the meter that's used is not important as long as you're being billed in kwh or amps.

What affects the percentage of savings I'll make?

There are a number of factors that affect the percentage of savings you will make ...

  • The country you are in and their electrical distribution system.
Generally power savings are highest in countries where electrical distribution is less advanced.  We've found that clients in Asia and Eastern Europe tend to save more electricity than clients in Europe, Australia and America and whilst Asian clients might realize savings over 30%, most residential customers in Europe and The USA will probably average savings of 10 - 15%.

  • Appliances you'll be using
The most efficient savings come when you use The Zap Box with; air-conditioners, pumps, washing machines, driers, fridges, freezers and appliances with large motors.  The Zap Box does not save energy on appliances without motors.

  • The age of your appliances
You'll achieve greater savings on older appliances as they'll not have been built with energy-saving principles in mind.

How does The Zap Box work?

The basic principle is as follows;

Inductive loads such as electric motors, pumps and compressors kick back unusable energy into the power system.

This unusable energy materializes as heat build-up in appliances, noise on transistor radios and cordless phones, etc.

The Zap Box contains capacitors that absorb this unusable energy and recycle it as usable electricity that can be used by electrical appliances - thereby reducing your energy demand from your power company.

Depending upon how much inductive load is present, how often those motors, pumps and compressors cycle on and off and how old or efficient they are will determine the savings available to you.

Another factor is the rate structure of your electric utility, you may be able to save a substantial amount of additional money on your electric bill.

Utility rate structures that account for reactive power consumption, by either a KVA or var demand usage, or a power factor penalty are the ones that can provide the greatest pay-back.

Other ancillary benefits to be gained by optimizing power factor are, lower energy losses, better voltage regulation and increased system capacity.

The Zap Box also provides 2000 joules or surge suppression, similar to many so called “whole home protectors”.

Pay-back period for The Zap Box including installation cost may be as little as six months.

Can I use one Zap Box for an entire house / business?

Very few clients ever require more than one Zap Box.

By installing The Zap Box into your main breaker panel it will provide sufficient savings for that panel and for any sub panels too.

If you have both single and 3-phase electrical systems in your home or business then it is best to purchase just one powersaver to install on the breaker panel that uses the most electricity.

Is The Zap Box legal?

Yes they are certainly legal.

The reason people are nervous is because they've usually discovered videos online where a person demonstrates how to slow down their electricity meter using magnets.  This type of device is very much illegal and is very different to how our products work.

Some less dramatic concerns are reasonable ...
  • Depending on where you live, your electricity company may not allow you to install your power-saver close to your electric meter however you are free to install your power-saver further into your circuit.

  • I know health and safety laws in some countries are getting out of control.  Although it's very straightforward to install your power-saver yourself, some insurance companies may require you pay a certified electrician to ensure it's done correctly.  This rule doesn't just apply to The Zap Box though, I've heard that in the UK now even adding a plug-socket to your home requires this!

There are a few important reasons why you can trust The Zap Box to be legal ...
  1. They use genuine power-saving science to recycle your wasted electricity.  They are NOT trying to fool your electricity meter in any way.

  2. If you buy a clamp-on amp meter you'll be able to measure reductions in amps and kwh immediately.

  3. All our products have CE, CSA and UL safety approval.  Our products would not be approved if they were illegal in any way.

  4. We process orders through credit cards and through PayPal and have done so for over 4 years.  Both PayPal and Authorize.net have put their trust in us that we are a reputable business.

  5. We are a legally registered US corporation and are therefore responsible under US law to be marketing and producing products that work as advertised.

  6. You'll actually see The Zap Box and similar power-savers openly displayed in businesses and offices throughout the USA once you know what they look like.  None of our clients are instructed to hide their power-savers from the electric companies.

  7. Give your electric company a call.  They might not be very pleased that you're legally reducing your electric bills but they'll reluctantly assure you that the products are legal

  8. Finally, we have recently improved our warranty terms so that if you are not 100% satisfied with your order, after testing it for 12 Months,  we'll refund you for both the product AND for the outbound postage cost.  If we expected you to have any problems whatsoever with your order then we'd certainly not be able to offer terms as good as this.
